Support for LGBTQ people
YC Hertfordshire is increasing the services and support in Hertfordshire for young LGBTQ people. Information on the development of these services can be found via Herts1125 Who not What, the county’s LGBTQ young people’s group who are supported by YC Hertfordshire youth workers to help develop their skills and knowledge when working at a strategic level.
Young people's LGBTQ support groups
YC Hertfordshire currently runs 14 LGBTQ support groups. They are safe environments where you can meet other LGBTQ young people, get support, learn new things and have fun!

Launched in October 2015, the Young Pride in Herts website was designed by young people for young people and contains a wealth of information to support young people as well as provide information for parents and professionals.

Viewpoint is a user involvement charity in Hertfordshire for people with mental health or drug and alcohol problems. In 2013, they led on a consultation within the Transgender community. See the results here and how is it influencing change in the county.
Stonewall Education Equality Index Hertfordshire County Council came 5th in 2017, 1st in 2016, 2nd in both 2014 and 2015, receiving a special award in 2015 for being the best performing local authority over the past five years. The Award recognises how well Hertfordshire is celebrating difference, tackling homophobia and biphobia in schools and supporting LGBT young people in their local communities.
Stonewall School Champions have committed to working with Stonewall to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying and celebrate difference in their schools.
