Autism Project

The YC Hertfordshire Monday Evening Autism Project at Monk's Walk Young People's Centre is an exciting project for young people aged 13-17 with Asperger’s Syndrome or autism. If you'd like the opportunity to meet others, join in discussions and take part in activities such as sports, cooking, arts & crafts, and socialising, then this group is for you!

Breakout Project for Young Adults with Learning Disabilities, Hatfield

The YC Hertfordshire Breakout Project is for young people aged 18-24 with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It's a place where you can make friends, learn new skills, relax and have fun.

Care Leavers Project, Hatfield

The YC Hertfordshire Hatfield Care Leavers Project is for young people in care or care leavers aged 16-19. Come to the YC Hertfordshire Hatfield Young People's Centre to learn valuable skills that will help build your confidence in living more independently.

Emotional Wellbeing Project, Hatfield

At the YC Hertfordshire Just BEE Youth Project at Breaks Manor Youth Centre in Hatfield you can get involved with all sorts of great activities, including cooking, art, crafts, sports and much more. The sessions are run by supportive YC Hertfordshire youth workers and designed to help boost your self-esteem, confidence and sense of wellbeing.

 

Emotional Wellbeing Project, Welwyn Garden City

If you are aged 13-17 and feel you would like support with developing your emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem, or are struggling with anxiety or low mood, the YC Hertfordshire Emotional Wellbeing Project at Monk’s Walk Young People's Centre could be for you. Join us on Wednesday evenings from 5.15pm to 7.15pm and bring about positive changes in your life.

Friday Night Project, Hatfield

Do you want somewhere to go on a Friday evening? Come along, get involved and meet new friends. Friday nights at Breaks Manor is a safe space in which to meet new people, develop positive relationships and try out new activities or participate in workshops which develop your skills, experience, confidence and opportunities for your future.

Friday Street-Based Project, Woodhall, Welwyn Garden City

Are you aged 13-17? Do you and your friends spend time in the Woodhall area of Welwyn Garden City? Look out for the YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Friday evenings from 4pm to 6pm. You can chat to the youth workers, get advice and support, and find out what’s happening in your area for young people. You'll also have the opportunity to have your say on local matters that affect you as well as organise activities you and your friends will enjoy.

Hatfield Duke of Edinburgh's Award Project

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, you just need to be aged between 13 and 24 and ready to jump into the best time of your life! Come along to the Welwyn Hatfield DofE sessions which are held every three weeks on a Friday at Hatfield Young People's Centre.

Hatfield Youth Forum

The Hatfield Young People’s Forum is for young people aged 13-17 living in and around Hatfield who want to make a difference in their community. You will get the chance to express your ideas, opinions and solutions to decision makers, including council staff and community organisations. This is your chance to get your voice heard and make a difference, so come and get involved!

Healthy Relationships Project, Welwyn Garden City

Want to be more confident and happier in your relationships? Worried about a relationship going wrong, being or becoming controlling or abusive? Want to find out how and where you can get support? The YC Hertfordshire Healthy Relationships Project at the Welwyn Garden City Young People's Centre can help you to make informed, safe choices and to have appropriate, healthy and safe relationships. It is specially designed to enable young people to recognise and develop healthy relationships and keep themselves safe from exploitation.

LGBTQ Project

The YC Hertfordshire LGBTQ project in the Welwyn Hatfield area is a weekly support group for all young people in the LGBTQ community. There will be trips and discussions and lots of fun activities! You plan the programme. We meet every Monday and it runs during the school holidays too. YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.

Monk's Walk Friday Night Project

Come to the YC Hertfordshire Friday Night Project at Monk's Walk Young People's Centre. It is a safe space where you can meet new people, develop positive relationships and try out new activities. You can also participate in workshops which develop your skills, knowledge and confidence, and find out about opportunities for your future.

Positive Alternatives (+Alt) Project, Hatfield

Positive Alternatives (+Alt) is a YC Hertfordshire programme for young people who may be at risk of becoming involved in gangs and violent crime. Come to this project at Hatfield Young People's Centre and learn how to keep yourself safe and make positive choices for your future.

Sexual Health Outreach Service, Oaklands College, Welwyn Garden City

Do you have questions about sexual health and relationships? Want to know how you can keep yourself safe from STIs? Come to YC Hertfordshire’s sexual health outreach clinic at Oaklands College, Welwyn Garden City. The sexual health sessions take place every Tuesday, 11.30am–1.30pm, in The Lounge. Drop by to access the support you need.

Sexual Health Outreach Service, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

Do you have questions about sexual health and relationships? Want to know how you can keep yourself safe from STIs? Come to YC Hertfordshire’s sexual health outreach clinic at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. The sessions are every other Tuesday (see below for dates) 5.30-7.30pm, at the Oval, located near the student accommodation on the College Lane campus. Drop by to access the support you need.

Saturday Street-Based Project, Hatfield Town Centre

Are you aged 13-17? Do you and your friends spend time in and around Hatfield Town Centre and skate park? Look out for the YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm. You can chat to the youth workers, get advice and support, and find out what’s happening in your area for young people. You'll also have the opportunity to have your say on local matters that affect you as well as organise activities you and your friends will enjoy.

Thursday Street-based Project, Panshanger, Welwyn Garden City

Are you aged 13-17? Do you and your friends spend time in and around Moneyhole Lane Park in Panshanger, Welwyn Garden City? Look out for the YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm. You can chat to them, get advice and support, and find out what’s happening in your area for young people. You'll also have the opportunity to have your say on local matters that affect you as well as organise activities you and your friends will enjoy.

Young Parents and Parents-To-Be

Are you pregnant or a new parent? Are you aged 14-21? If so the YC Hertfordshire Plus One programme for young mums and dads is for you! For young parents and parents-to-be in the Welwyn Hatfield area, this programme is completely free, will help you manage the challenges of being a parent, support you with developing valuable skills and qualities for planning your future, and also being the best possible parent you can be.
