The Dacorum Team youth work projects will be closed from Monday 16th December 2019 to Friday 10th January 2020, reopening week commencing 13th January 2020.

Bridges2Beats Music Project

Bridges2Beats is a unique music project run by YC Hertfordshire which looks at the impact of how music can break down barriers between different cultures. As part of the project you'll work towards a live performance and gain a Bronze Arts Award. If you can commit to one evening a week for 14 weeks, this project could be for you!

Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills Project

The YC Hertfordshire Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills Project in Hemel Hempstead is for young people in care or care leavers aged 13-21 who live in the Dacorum area. Come to the Bennetts End Young People's Centre and learn important skills that will help you to live more independently and build your confidence.

Creative Spark Music and Media Project for Young People with Learning Disabilities

Creative Spark is a music and media project for young people with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Run by YC Hetfordshire at the state-of-the-art XC Music and Media Studios, the project enables young people to get involved with creating and recording music, photography, film-making and animation.

Dacorum Youth Council

Join the Dacorum Youth Council to have your say and make a difference! Learn how to represent yourself and other young people in your area.

Discovery Transgender Project

The YC Hertfordshire Discovery Transgender Project is open to all young people aged 13-17 who live in the Dacorum district and who identify as transgender, non-binary, gender fluid and/or are questioning their gender. If this is you, come and join us on the last Thursday of every month from 6.45 to 8.45pm. It is a safe space for a social and supportive group.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, you just need to be aged between 13 and 17 and ready to jump into the best time of your life! The Dacorum DofE project is for young people in the Dacorum district and is held fortnightly on Wednesdays at the Hemel Hempstead Young People’s Centre (see below for dates).

Emotional Wellbeing Project

Are you aged 13-17 and want to feel more confident in life? Come along to this YC Hertfordshire Emotional Wellbeing Project at Bennetts End Young People’s Centre every Thursday.

Friday Night Project at Bennetts End Young People's Centre

The YC Hertfordshire Friday Night Project is open to all young people aged 13-17. Bennetts End Young People's Centre is a safe space for you to meet new people, develop positive relationships and try out new activities. You can also take part in workshops which develop your skills and confidence, have new experiences and find out about opportunities for young people in your area. Come along and get involved!

Friday Night Project at Hemel Hempstead Young People's Centre

The YC Hertfordshire Friday Night Project is open to all young people aged 13-17 in the Dacorum District. Hemel Hempstead Young People's Centre at Jarman Park is a safe space for you to meet new people, develop positive relationships and try out new activities. You can also take part in workshops which develop your skills and confidence, have new experiences and find out about opportunities for young people in your area. Come along and get involved!

Girls Allowed Young Women's Project

The YC Hertfordshire Girls Allowed project at the XC Young People's Centre is a safe place for girls to meet up and have fun. It's open to all young women aged 13-17 in the Dacorum and Hemel Hempstead area, every Tuesday, 7-9pm. YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.

'Happy As I Am' LGBTQ Project

The YC Hertfordshire Dacorum Team runs the 'Happy as I am' LGBTQ Project in Hemel Hempstead for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and young people and those questioning their sexuality every Thursday evening. YC Hertfordshire is the new name for Youth Connexions.

'Into the Frame' photography and media project

Are you interested in media and photography? Get Into The Frame with YC Hertfordshire! This project is open to young people in the Hemel Hempstead area aged 13-17.

Monday Street Project

Are you aged 13-17? Do you and your friends spend time in Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Markyate or Tring? Look out for the friendly YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Monday evenings from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. You can chat to the youth workers, get advice and support, also find out what’s happening in your area for young people.

National Citizen Service (NCS)

National Citizen Service with YC Hertfordshire is a really exciting opportunity for 16 and 17 year-olds (School Years 11 and 12) during the school holidays. It's a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experience that will be one of the most exhilarating and rewarding times of your life. You'll take on new challenges, gain new skills and work as a team to help people in your local area. It all starts with yes! Sign up now!

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a government-backed programme that helps young people build skills for work, life and their transition into adulthood.

What’s in it for you?

  • It's a really fun way to spend some of your schoool holidays
  • It will help you build independence and confidence and prepare you for life beyond school or college
  • You'll develop qualities valued by employers
  • If you're thinking about university, NCS will look excellent on your UCAS form

Positive Alternatives Project

This YC Hertfordshire Positive Alternatives Project is for 13-17 year olds in the Dacorum District who may be at risk of becoming involved in unlawful or risky behaviour. You can get involved in sports and get support to help you take steps to a safer, more positive future.

Skate Park Project

If you're aged 13-17 and live in the Dacorum district, come and meet YC Hertfordshire youth workers on Friday evenings at various skate parks in the area. You can skate and take part in sports and other outdoor activities, get advice and support, as well as having your say on local matters.

The Monday Night Project

Come along to the YC Hertfordshire youth project at the Bennetts End Young People's Centre on Monday nights and unleash your creativity!
