Youth Council members welcome oversees visitors

15 May 2019

Members of the St Albans Youth Council welcomed two members of the Worms Youth Parliament, the German town which is twinned with St Albans.

St Albans Youth Council is supported by YC Hertfordshire and encourages young people to make changes in their local communities.

The young people from Germany were visiting St Albans to learn about the town with which their hometown is twinned. They had the opportunity to discuss different cultures and the similarities they had even though they live in different countries. The young people exchanged contact details and are planning to liaise and organise similar social action projects that can be run in both Worms and St Albans.

Youth councils across Hertfordshire are groups of young people keen to change things in their local area, improving facilities or raising awareness of wider issues such as transport, sexual health and personal safety.
