Young people make music and raise money for local charity

01 December 2017

Over £1000 was raised by the St Albans and Harpenden Youth Council, supported by YC Hertfordshire, at a charity music gig help at the Pioneer Young People’s Centre last week.

The Youth Council raised £1071 for the Ollie Foundation - a charity devoted to stopping young people from taking their own lives.

The Youth Council worked closely with young people from the Ollie Foundation to organise and publicise the event and took the lead co-ordinating and booking bands, preparing and distributing the publicity, buying refreshments and running the gig on the night.

The event was a great success and over 170 young people from the area attended and had a great time.
